Former California Senate Democrat Majority Leader Gloria Romero announced Wednesday she was changing her voter registration to Republican, stating she has "had enough”.
She has criticized Kammy as inept for eeducation in the state. As Attorney General, Romero said Harris was attempting to "pass a bill that looked to jail mothers of students who were truant and not going to school."
She is for school choice and education freedom in California. She believes the education system in California has failed the students. Her reason? The strong teacher’s union to which the state’s politicians are beholden without regard to the needs of the children.
“Her record as attorney general showed that she did nothing to change the schools, to provide for school choice. In her hometown of Oakland, Calif., today, 75% of both African-American and Latino children are not reading or doing math at basic levels of proficiency, and yet, she went to court with the teachers union, very powerful big donors, to block education reforms that these families had had the courage to go to court and sue over. That is the record of the attorney general of California."
Senator Romero believes many California Democrats are disgusted by both the current State and Federal government's long-standing thinking that California will vote “Blue” no matter who is the candidate. She believes that this assumption is wrong and many people, including Hispanics, will be voting for President Trump in November.
"Blue California may be blue, but people are ready to vote for change, to make America great again, and I take pride in saying that today," Romero said.
As an astute politician, she just may have her pulse on the community she continues to serve. And she believes California will surprise all the “prognosticators” as California gives its fifty-four Electoral votes to Donald Trump.
