The Year-End Meanderings of a Wanna-Be Journalist

I know it has been weeks since I wrote a new commentary on the events encompassing our country and the world at large. But, for a while my life has been in a state of flux. Many things have been ongoing and still seem to engulf my every waking minute.

However, I did not want to allow the year end without expressing my thanks for your readership loyalty, and of course, the benefit of your friendship.

I am endeavoring to get myself back on track but it isn't easy. Trust me, for those of you who follow me on Twitter or are friends with me on Facebook, I manage to share other writers' commentaries and/or graphics. And if you really know me, I am sharing at least 95% of what I agree with. Having said that, by the time my day finally winds down to a time where I can write, my brain is exhausted.

Hence, I share the things I (mostly) agree.

To my liberal friends, if you are truly paying attention, I really am not the "right-wing blogger" some of you have personally told me I am. To my conservative friends, I am not the "whack-a-doo lefty" you have called me. Instead, I am a free-thinking American, who believes in the Constitution of the United States, as written, word for word, with all the Articles and all the Amendments in place.

I have written that we need to amend the Constitution, by using Article V if necessary, to institute term limits on the Members of Congress; to repeal the XVI Amendment, and by so doing, dissolve the IRS, at least in its present form; to limit Executive Powers  by forcing the Congress  to do its job; and to reduce dramatically the size of the United States government.

I have written on issues of the separation of church and state, especially as it relates to mandatory health care and the violation of people's rights to choose whether they want to pay for services they do not believe in; about Pope Francis and his belief that he understands the sexually of man/woman and same sex relationships, stating he has no right to judge; about the need for medical Marijuana and my own epiphany to legalize it for recreational purposes, as well.

I have written on issues involving race, and that racism is not solely a white fault; the Unrev Al is a racist, too. Sadly, the President and the Attorney General give this bigot way too much leeway and access. But I do agree this is an issue which still needs to be addressed. Too bad Dr King's message seems now to have died with him. No one is listening to each other anymore.

And when did the entire police force in the United States become the criminals? And by whose standards? The leftist media and its righteous indignation? After what happened last night in New York City, it is time for the left-wing panderers to stop their cop hate-speech and cheering on the racist who thinks he is a minister of God. Are you hearing me Barry, Eric and Billy D?

But, I digress. As you see I have much to say and much that I believe. I pray (yes I do that, too) that 2015 will be better, for us personally, for us as a Nation and for us as an integrated and diverse world population. I know that it is difficult but all in all, we are perseverant as a species. I pray for world peace and I pray that the killing of people in the name of God will stop. THAT is what is meant by taking the Lord's name in vain.

So. Finally, I come to the end. As a spiritual man, I wish you all a Blessed Holiday Season, no matter what your belief or unbelief is; I am not prosthelesizing; instead I am wishing you good cheer and happiness at year-end and for the New Year, much like has been celebrated by the Romans during the Saturnalia and others through the millennia.

I hope to be back in full force in January, when we will again debate the issues of the day, as  reasonable people at a few decibels lower than what 2014 was set.

Thanks, once again, for your loyalty and your friendship. Have a safe and Happy New Year!
