Trump's Arizona Rally and His Pledges

At his Arizona rally on Thursday, President Trump pledged that he would work to eliminate taxes on overtime pay for anyone who worked over forty hours a week.

This would include police officers, fire fighters, nurses, truck drivers and many others.

As part of our additional tax cuts, we will end all taxes on overtime,” Trump pledged at a rally in Tucson, Ariz., a key swing state in the 2024 election.

This is included along with his previous pledges to eliminate taxes on tips and social security payments to seniors and the extension of the 2017 tax cuts.

He argued that those policies, along with ending taxes on overtime pay and keeping his 2017 tax cuts in place, will be part of how he will “end the era of inflation, mayhem and misery under the Kamala [Harris] and Crooked Joe [Biden] regime and unleash safety, prosperity and peace for Americans of every race, religion, color and creed.”

He also promised to prevent illegals from being to obtain mortgages and to apply forent in federally funded housing.

When I return to the White House we will require all companies receiving federal housing subsidies to verify citizenship,” he said. “We’re going to make sure that it’s a legal residency as a condition of their rental agreements.”
