My Trump Second Cabinet Picks - Part 2

On July 31, I offered my first six picks for Donald Trump to consider when he begins to interview people to form his next Cabinet. Knowing he looks to those people he knows and has worked well in the past, these are my next choices.

Betty DeVros – Secretary of Education: Ms DeVros served in the same position for all four years in Trump's previous Administration. She is an advocate for school choice and charter schools. Her positions align with having the States run education to benefit students rather than having a national program which only benefits the NEA.

Stephen Moore – Director, Office of Management: Mr Moore advocates tax cuts and other supply- economics. Moore's columns have appeared in outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, The Weekly Standard and National Review. Along with Larry Kudlow, Moore advised the Trump administration during the writing and passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Larry Kudlow – Chairman, Council of Economic Advisors: Mr Kudlow has worked in the previous Trump Administration as Director of the National Economic Council. He also had previously served in the Reagan and GW Bush Administrations in related positions. Along with Stephen Moore, he advised the Trump Administration during the writing and passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. He is also a huge supporter of the USMCA trade agreement.

Robert Lighthizer – US Trade Representative: Mr Lighthizer was an architect of American trade policy during Trump's presidency. As a protectionist and a trade skeptic, his policies are oriented toward protection of manufacturing in the United States. Lighthizer played a key role in the administration's renegotiation of NAFTA (USMCA) and the United States’ trade war with China.

Robert F Kennedy, Jr. – Administrator, Environmental Protection Administration: Presently, Mr Kennedy is running as a third-party candidate for President. Kennedy began his career as an assistant district attorney in New York City. In the mid-1980s, he joined two nonprofits focused on environmental protection: Riverkeeper and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). His work at Riverkeeper set long-term environmental legal standards. At both organizations, he won legal battles against large corporate polluters.

Susie Wiles – Chief of Staff: Presently, Ms Wiles is co-campaign manager for Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. In 2015, Wiles worked as Florida co-chair of Trump's 2016 presidential campaig and in 2020, Wiles served as a senior advisor to Trump's re-election campaign. Following the 2020 presidential election, Wiles served as the chief executive officer of the Save America Leadership PAC, Trump's leadership political action committee.

Dana White – Administrator, Small Business Administration: Trump has known Dana White since 2001. Mr White said that when he and his partners acquired the UFC, all they received was the brand name "UFC" and the old octagon logo. The previous owners had stripped the company's assets to avoid bankruptcy. Over time, with White as president, the UFC developed into a highly successful business, and its gross revenue was $600 million in 2015. In April, 2023, the now $4 billion company announced a deal that would see professional wrestling company WWE merge with UFC to form a new public company. White is now the Chief Executive Officer of the UFC.

These people are all known entities where Trump has forged trusting relationships with each. While these positions are mostly “behind the scenes”, they are as equally essential as the other Cabinet positions to run a successful Administration.

But first things first. Now, more than ever, Trump needs to win in order to make these appointments help him, and us, Make America Great Again.

Next week, I will give you my remaining choices to complete Trump’s Cabinet.
