When "Moderation" is Censorship

Funny thing about being relevant. One day you wake up and you think you are not important or relevant anymore. You forget your are relevant to your children and grandchildren, your family and your friends.

This happens, especially, to those who are in the entertainment and sports worlds, the clergy and even politicians.

Politicians, especially, are so wrapped up in their own self-imprtance and are truly narcissistic.

The biggest narcissist in the group is none other than the Queen of the May herself, Hillary Clinton.

Good ol’ Hillary is always looking for someone to quote her, even when she says something outlandish.

Today, it was reported by Newsmax that she gave an interview and called for censorship of social media companies. She was careful not to say “censor”. Instead, her go-to word was “moderate”.

Here is something of what the Narcissist said:

If the platforms, whether it's Facebook or Twitter/X or Instagram or TikTok, whatever they are, if they don't moderate and monitor the content, we lose total control," Clinton told host Michael Smerconish on Friday.

"And it's not just the social and psychological effects, it's real harm. It's, you know, child porn, and threats of violence, things that are terribly dangerous."

She goes on to say, “We can look at the state of California, the state of New York, I think some other states have also taken action," Clinton said. "But we need national action, and sadly, our Congress has been dysfunctional when it comes to addressing these threats to our children. … This should be at the top of every legislative agenda."

And she closes with, “We need to remove the immunity from liability, and we need to have guardrails, we need regulation."

Today, it may be porn and children, which any reasonable person could agree. But, she is not a reasonable person. She has tried to restrict speech before.

Especially on those she does not agree. Like Donald Trump.

I guess by calling for censorship makes her relevant. But she probably forgot this little tidbit that the Framers placed in our Sacred Document:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Maybe we should just “moderate” every stupid thing she says.
