Twelve runs. Fourteen hits. Five walks. And best of all, NO STRIKEOUTS. Everyone, even those who made an out, swung hard and made contact.
No one gave up. That is the mark of a winner. Even in failure, you try.
Now, the Mets go back to LA, energized by this win. Gotta win just two. But just play for tomorrow. And they know they can do it. They showed themselves how it is done.
Sunday night, they play another do or die game. But then, since June 1, that is how they have played, night after night.
Just play for the next one. Don’t play for the one after that. Just what’s next. That attitude has worked well for months.
Everyone is on deck. And everyone plays. For each other. And everyone cheers each other on. That is the mark of a TEAM.
And this team believes in itself. If you’re a Met fan, you have to believe in them, too. I do, since 1962.
All I can say is, LETS GO METS!!
