Hence, the Mets have been living in a June swoon.
This week, they are home and will play the Braves for four games, and then, back on the road for three in Pittsburgh against the Pirates.
They are back home on July 1, with three against the Brewers and three against their cross-town rivals, the Yankees.
They will be home for thirteen of the next sixteen games, including the big July fourth weekend. They have a great record, thus far, at home at seventeen wins and only ten losses.
The pitching has suffered and the hitting is awful, but that is part of the season. It is in their control to get the gears in synch again, and this stretch just might be the ticket. A thirteen and three run would surely help.
They are 46 and 32, with 84 games left to play. The season is just short of the halfway mark, so plenty of games are still out there to be won.
So, get your cheer on as we begin a new round of wins.
As for team leaders, Alonso has 18 home runs, followed by Soto and Lindor with 16, and Nimmo with 15. As for the lifetime chase, Alonso needs eight to tie Strawberry ang could do it by the All Star Break, or right after in mid-July.
So, let’s get ‘em guys. Still a lot to do, and much to accomplish.
Let’s Go Mets!
