That act was originally passed on October 14, 1940, to consolidate and restate the laws of the United States regarding citizenship, naturalization, and expatriation, and, in addition to certain specific repeals thereby, all acts or parts of acts in conflict with its provisions were repealed by former section 904 of this title.
The Congress passed the original statute, giving authority to the President to enforce it. But the President cannot change the law, since it requires Congressional approval.
Nowhere does this law empower ANY State of local entities to disregard the provisions outlined or specified. In fact the Constitution of the United States is also quite specific. The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. This is called the “vesting clause”.
Someone needs to spell out to Governors Newsom, Hochul, Murphy and every other governor who is defiant and has chosen to ignore the entirety of this statute that they are violating their oaths of office.
In fact, California Governor Gavin Newsom added fuel to the fire, with ongoing riots in LA regarding the attempted removal of illegal immigrants, after daring President Trump’s border czar Tom Homan to arrest him for failing to crackdown on violent anti-ICE agitators in his state.
“Come after me. Arrest me. Let’s just get it over with, tough guy,” the defiant Democrat told NBC News on Sunday.
Newsom’s taunt came soon after Homan had warned that the governor and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass could both face federal charges for trying to thwart ICE raids throughout the city.
In response to the violence, President Trump said he would deploy 2,000 California National Guard troops to the city as federal immigration agents faced off against scores of anti-ICE protesters for a third day.
Newsom, who insisted the Trump move would only exacerbate the conditions, stoked the flames, as he accused the administration of using federal power as a political weapon.
Actually, Gav, you Dumb@$$, you have shown by your stupidity that you have no business being governor of your State. You, instead, are neglecting your responsibility to protect the CITIZENS of your State by inciting the riots with your idiotic comments.
You have failed once again, Gavin. President Trump is only cleaning up the disastrous mess YOU created for not doing YOUR job.
You have shown you are incompetent by how you failed to handle the wildfires in January. Now you have proven you don’t understand the basic national immigration law. Obviously, you didn’t read it or don’t understand it.
So, why don’t you just do Californians a favor and resign, so someone else can fix the nightmare YOU created?
