So, as a matter of caution and due diligence, the doctor decided to schedule a biopsy. Just to make sure it was not cancer.
We should get the results back in about a week. Meanwhile, the hope is that the biopsy comes back negative and it is only scar tissue from one of the many procedures I have had.
This has been ongoing since August or September 2021, and as I have said all along, having a good support system around, great doctors and a positive attitude all go a long way to achieve a positive outcome. Besides, you can't worry about things you can’t control.
And prayer helps, too. For me, I pray to St Padre Pio, who is considered the patron saint of healing. Many miracles, including healings, are attributed to Padre Pio's intercession, both during his life and after his death.
His famous saying, “Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry”,
encapsulates his approach to life, emphasizing trust in God and perseverance in prayer.
As you know, from other commentaries I have written, I am not the most devout Catholic. But I AM spiritual. And I do believe in prayer, and St Padre Pio has been my healer since my first
bout with cancer in 2011. I wear a bracelet with his blessed saying on it.
I tell you this not looking for sympathy. It isn’t necessary. Instead, remember someone in your life and understand we and they have struggles which are sometimes hard to deal with.
Be their anchor, their support, as I am lucky enough to have mine. Maybe you can lend them a helping hand. Trust me, the simplest gestures go a long way to help them on their road to recovery.
Be kind to all. You know not what issues each of them have. And be strong for those you do know have issues.
Trust me; they will appreciate it more than you can imagine.
