Cheering on Musk and DOGE

We are learning with the advent of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), as reported by Fox News, about the abuse, misuse and fraud which seems to have been perpetrated for years by the Department of the Treasury. In fact the Acting Secretary, David Lebryk, resigned immediately upon the confirmation of Secretary Scott Bessent.

Seems suspicious, doesn’t it?

The Democrats and LSM have been bemoaning the fact that Elon Musk and DOGE have been taking such an active role in carrying out President Trump's EO.

Sources tell my office that Treasury Secretary Bessent has granted DOGE *full* access to this system. Social Security and Medicare benefits, grants, payments to government contractors, including those that compete directly with Musk's own companies. All of it," Wyden posted to social media site BlueSky posted late Saturday night.

He seems concerned that DOGE may uncover additional fraud which would lead to places he does not want uncovered.

The @DOGE team discovered, among other things, that payment approval officers at Treasury were instructed always to approve payments, even to known fraudulent or terrorist groups. They literally never denied a payment in their entire career. Not even once," Musk, the chair of DOGE, posted on X.

Musk and Trump had several long conversations on the overspending by the government, and the lack of accountability by those responsible for safeguarding our nation’s monetary supply.

"A lot of people just don’t understand where inflation comes from. Inflation comes from government overspending because the checks never bounce when it’s written by the government. So if the government spends far more than it brings in, that increases the money supply. If the money supply increases faster than the rate of goods and services, that’s inflation," Musk said during their conversation.

So, why wouldn’t the Ranking Member want to see where it goes, too? Or is he more interested in protecting those who are committing fraud?

Apparently, Senator Wyden’s focus doesn’t seem to align with his fiduciary position as a United States Senator.

But for the rest of us, we will continue to cheer on Elon Musk and DOGE to clean up this mess.
