Will Reasonableness Prevail in Canada?

It is not surprising that Canadians are sick and tired, or "malade et fatiguĂ©" in Quebec and Montreal, of the Little Lord Fauntleroy, Justin Trudeau. After ten years, who wouldn’t be done with his egotistical stupidity.

Well, the Libs love him, in Ontario, and maybe, in parts of Quebec. But for the rest of Canada, not so much.

In yesterday's New York Post, it was revealed that the CEO and co-founder of Shopify, Tobi Lutke, had a few things to say about Trudeau. Shopify is Canada's second largest entity after the Royal Bank of Canada.

Canada thrives when it works with America together. Win by helping America win. Trump believes that Canada has not held its side of the bargain,” Tobi Lutke, who co-founded Shopify, wrote on X.

He certainly is not pleased with Trudeau’ bravado, knowing that Canada is reliant upon Americans for Canada’s survival.

These are things that every Canadian wants its government to do, too. These are not crazy demands, even if they came from an unpopular source. These tariffs are going to be devastating to so many people’s lives and small businesses.”

But he isn’t the only one. Alberta Premier, Danielle Smith, had some criticism to offer about Trudeau and his obstinance.

If there is a failure, the failure lands at the feet of Justin Trudeau who damaged the relationship with the incoming president by his antics in the first round of negotiations.”

Although she has backed away a bit, she knows that this act and Trudeau’s response will not help Canada in the long run.

At this point, tariffs on Canadian goods are scheduled to go into effect at 12:01 AM on February 4. While Canada has indicated that a comparable tariff will be applied, there is still time for all sides to back down.

All Canada needs to do is agree to stop illegals and Fentanyl from crossing the border. But Trudeau is lame duck, so he wants to go out in a blaze of glory. And he is failing even at that.

Unless his goal is to burn Canada and the US relationship completely to the ground.

With hours to go, perhaps Canadians will be able to put enough pressure on Trudeau and agree to end this stalemate.
