But instead, he stood up for The City which Biden and his cronies were thrashing and trashing with unwanted illegals, and finally, began trashing The Mayor's reputation.
Initially, they began to go after his subordinates, like a former Police Commissioner, that person’s replacement, a couple of Deputy Mayors, a Schools Chancellor, until finally, they went after the Mayor. He still complained and then, on some minor infraction, they indicted him, as if he was involved in a “pay to play” scheme. Even though he had no authority as a Boro President.
So, last night it was reported by the New York Post that the Trump DOJ had no reason to continue this political persecution of someone because he did not comply with orders issued from on high. So, the US Attorney of the SDNY was told, “You are directed, as authorized by the Attorney General, to dismiss the pending charges” against Adams, Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove wrote in a letter.
Mayor Adams was looking for a pardon so he could run for re-election without having the trial to impact his time. Instead, he can run as a free and clear candidate without election interference, not needing to address his potential guilt.
While he probably won’t run now as a Republican (though years ago he was), much like former illinois Governor Rod Blagovich, who was also given a reprieve and pardon from President Trump, he is solidly now a Trumpcrat.
He will work with the Trump DHS to clean up his City of illegal criminals who have destroyed it. In a footnote, Bove’s letter contended there wasn’t a quid pro quo between Adams and the Trump administration.
“(The) Government is not offering to exchange dismissal of a criminal case for Adams’s assistance on immigration enforcement,” it states.
Judge Dale Ho, who has heard the case in Manhattan federal court, will still have to sign off on the dismissal, but that appears to be just a formality, with prosecutors saying they have no intention of continuing the case.
Now, unencumbered, it will be up to Mayor Adams to prove to the citizens of New York if he is worthy of a second term.
