It was a loooong night on Tuesday, but in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, Donald Trump became our 45th President of the United States. Congratulations to him for his win, and to Hillary Clinton for running a tough campaign. Now it is time to come together.
There are approximately 73 days until President-Elect Trump will take the oath of Office of President of the United States. We will see how he decides to govern by the choices he makes for his Cabinet and other key positions needed to Make America Great Again.
Both Houses of Congress need to recognize the message the American voter sent last night. It needs to understand that the comfortable, easy life they have enjoyed since 1993 is done.
Hillary Clinton, much like John Kerry In 2004 and Al Gore in 2000, decided not to concede the election while the networks held off calling the election for Donald Trump. I have no objection to this because, as John Podesta said, it was important to count all the votes. I agree with that.
But at 2:42 AM on November 9, Donald Trump was elected President of the United States. Several channels and Lame Stream Media outlets, including the New York Times, CNN and Fox declared Mr Trump our newly elected President.
"I am reaching out to you to help me bind the wounds of this nation" and "to our veterans, you will be forgotten no longer." Finally, he said that he "thanked Hillary Clinton for her service to our country" after she called him directly to concede.
Who would have thought this in June, 2015?
It IS time to come together. God Bless America, Land that I Love.
