The Meaning of the Sinking of Alex Sink

A bell-weather election which will portend the outcome of the 2014 mid-terms and beyond took place in Pinellas County between perennial Democrat loser Alex Sink and her Republican challenger, David Jolly. Let's just say Ms. Sink's record is still secure.
David Jolly was a former aide to Representative Bill Young, whose death in October forced this election. Mr. Jolly won by 3,400 votes, 48% to 46% of the vote.
I have provided you the link to the article which appeared on the late online edition of Tuesday's USA Today.
Ms. Sink had a huge war chest and our spent Jolly nearly three to one. Sink was sunk before this election began due to the dissatisfaction, at least by those in Pinellas

County, with the President and his failing policies. Fortunately, the Republican Party picked the right candidate to run.
This election gives the Republican majority in the House 233 to 202, strong but not insurmountable. The Republicans need to continue to maintain a delicate balance in opposing Obamacare and other policies of the President while not doing anything stupid. Presently, it is believed the House is not in play, while this election signals a potential Democrat loss of the Senate.
Realistically, should the Republicans capture the Senate and retain the House, repealing Obamacare will not happen because they won't have 67% of each House to override the President's guaranteed veto. Thanks to Harry Reid, the chance to filibuster by the Democrats of any bill which contains denial of funding for this immoral law will be quashed the minute someone starts. Cloture is an option.
Further, should the President pick up his pen and phone to attempt any executive order to circumvent Congress' wishes, he will find his final two years wrapped up in impeachment hearings on that issue and every other illegal and unconstitutional act he committed during his Presidency.
So, the election of Mr. Jolly isn't about filling a seat for Florida's delegation. In this county, which the President won twice, it really is a warning that the country is tired of and disgusted with President Obama. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, marks the official beginning of his lame-duck status.
Congratulations to David Jolly on a significant and historic victory.
