Lois Lerner, Part 2

Today we will have a redux of the infamous hearing of May 22, 2013, where Lois Lerner, former IRS Director of Exempt Organizations, surprised the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee when she took the Fifth Amendment after she read her opening statement. The question is will she do it again?
As you recall, that action caused a furor in the Congress and has been the lynchpin if there had been some scandalous activity in the IRS practice of granting exemptions to applicants of charitable groups. Perhaps, finally we will "get to the bottom of this and punish those responsible" for discriminating against conservative groups by denying or delaying approval of their status.
We may see Ms. Lerner show up because she was subpoenaed by Congress and avoid a Contempt of Congress citation, which is a criminal offense against the United States and once again take the Fifth.
Perhaps Ms. Lerner may request a postponement for a week or two to better prepare for her appearance to make certain she has her evidence and her

testimony straight.
We may see Ms. Lerner request immunity in exchange for her testimony. She certainly would not be the first to make this request, nor will she be the last.
In any event, today will be an interesting day on Capitol Hill for Rep. Issa's committee. The emotions of the Members will be charged and no matter what happens, there will be a flurry of speeches and calls for ending this investigation.
Although Rep. Issa is going to try to get through the plethora of non-issues, ultimately Ms. Lerner will be in the driver's seat. Her actions will dictate the process and the direction of the hearing.
In the end, will we get to the bottom of this?  Well, let’s sit back, watch and see.
