But alas, it was not to be. President Trump shot rapid-fire holes in the Democrats' and media's sails. We watched and the President nominated Advisor Waltz to be the next UN Ambassador.
No joy in Dem-ville today. The sad faces are so forlorn. So, sit down, Hakeem, and keep quiet.
If you recall, when Signalgate first happened, Mike Waltz took responsibility for the screwup, even though it was his Assistant, Alex Wong, who was involved in the invites of the participants. Trump respected that all and gave Waltz a pass.
As of Wednesday, Waltz was an active participant at the most recent Cabinet meeting. And Trump played it perfectly, as usual, by letting several weeks pass and then named Waltz to an Ambassador level post.
“I am pleased to announce that I will be nominating Mike Waltz to be the next United States Ambassador to the United Nations,” Trump, 78, wrote on Truth Social. “From his time in uniform on the battlefield, in Congress and, as my National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz has worked hard to put our Nation’s Interests first. I know he will do the same in his new role."
And named SecState Rubio as Interim National Security Advisor. This was not on a whim. Everything with Trump is thought out.
Two sources close to the President said that they expect Waltz to be confirmed as UN ambassador, despite fallout from the Signal controversy. No matter how loud the Democrats howl.
“It’s UN ambassador,” one said of a potential GOP rebellion in the Senate. “No one gives a $#!+.”
Trump has shown he has his hand on the wheel and he is proving he is in control.
