Can You Say Governor Ramaswamy?

In a stunning move on Friday, the Ohio Republican Committee voted to name Vivek Ramaswsmy as its standard-bearer by an overwhelming margin for Governor by 60-3, over outgoing Governor Mike DeWine’s choice of his Lt Governor Jim Tressel.

 

Current Attorney General David Yost also had indicated he was looking to succeed DeWine.

The state party's endorsement gives Ramaswamy advantageous access to party resources over challengers.

And in a final blow to any perceived power or influence Governor DeWine thought he might still have, Vivek has the support of President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, the former Ohio Senator. That HAS to hurt.

"Grateful to receive the endorsement of the Ohio Republican Party by a historic 60-3 margin," Ramaswamy wrote on X after the vote. "We’re laser focused on growing our Republican voter base & delivering a decisive victory in ‘26. This isn’t about left vs. right. It’s up vs. down. We’ll work hard to earn every last vote."

Although the election isn’t for another eighteen months, it seems the campaign is already in full swing. And knowing that Ohio is a traditionally red state, Trump and MAGA want to assure the voters there is no doubt who it and he supports.

Vivek was a key player in helping to elect Donald Trump to a second term, and Trump will repay loyalty in kind. In addition, he was intimately involved in helping Elon Musk to get DOGE up to speed.

These next eighteen months will fly by in a flash and Vivek knows there is no time like the present. Procrastination is not in his vocabulary.

And, then, at ten PM on November 3, 2026, we will be congratulating Governor-Elect Ramaswamy on his overwhelming victory.
