And whose fault is that? President Trump? No, Claire Shipman. It is yours. You were placed into the position to prevent this action. And as a typical liberal POS with no backbone, you continued to allow it to fester, undeterred.
It was reported in the overnight edition of the New York Post that University officials are continuing to negotiate terms with the Trump Administration to keep the money flowing.
“Across the research portfolio we have had to make difficult choices and unfortunately, today, nearly 180 of our colleagues who have been working, in whole or in part, on impacted federal grants, will receive notices of non-renewal or termination,” acting Columbia University President Claire Shipman said in a statement. “This represents about 20% of the individuals who are funded in some manner by the terminated grants.
“In the coming weeks and months, we will need to continue to take actions that preserve our financial flexibility and allow us to invest in areas that drive us forward,” she added. “This is a deeply challenging time across all higher education, and we are attempting to navigate through tremendous ambiguity with precision, which will be imperfect at times.”
A lot of gobbledygook BS which are empty and meaningless words meant to appease. The demonstrations threatening Jewish students and others never should have been permitted to continue when it first occurred.
What Columbia did was not protecting "Free Speech"; it was condoning screaming “Fire” in a movie theater and cheering it on by its inaction.
Now, Ms Shipman, you have to pay the consequences for the indifference to the University’s neglect of its responsibilities to have students attend classes, or walk on the campus, without fear of personal injury, or even the risk of death.
Yet, even after all this, the violence still continues. The wearing of masks continues, contrary to “revised” University policy and New York State law.
“The federal agencies cite ‘the school’s continued inaction in the face of persistent harassment of Jewish students.’ There is no question that the cancellation of these funds will immediately impact research and other critical functions of the University, impacting students, faculty, staff, research, and patient care,” Shipman added at the time.
Funny thing about appeasement, Claire, as no real change has really been enforced. It didn’t ultimately work in 1938 in Munich, either. Did it!?!
Maybe the Alumni Association can make up the loss of the Federal grant money, right? Oh, wait! It seems that idea is an immediate lost cause, too. Too many of Columbia’s Alumni are either Jewish or ar least, not anti-Semitic. You fail before you start.
Since you won’t expel the anti-Semitic disruptors from your campus since they will not cease and desist their uncivilized behavior, Claire, it is time to expel yourself. Let another liberal incompetent fool try and fix this unrelenting disaster.
Don’t worry; guaranteed that fool will continue the failed policies already in place.
