You, Sir, are no Ronald Regan

Ronald Reagan, who was loved by everyone, was known as the Great Communicator because he was able to reach out and inspire us individually and as a nation, to unite us and to have us reach for the stars. He found the best of us as a people and stressed that attribute above all others.

Other Presidents have had a similar ability to reach down into our souls and bring out the best in us: FDR, Lincoln, Wilson, JFK. But Reagan was the best.

Now, we have, instead, a man who seeks to divide people at every turn. On Saturday, in the midst of the VA scandal and the Bergdahl/Taliban swap controversy, he decided to deflect and try to use the old standby, class warfare.

In his weekly radio/Internet address, Barack Obama spoke about the evil "rich millionaires" and the poor Americans with student loan debt. He conveniently forgot to mention that many students come from families headed by those very same "millionaires", who make less than $250,000 a year. Based on my math, that isn't a millionaire at all.

What he wants to do is back a bill by Senate Democrats to allow college graduates refinance their heavy loan debt, and then tax the "wealthy" to pay for it.

Huh?!?

The problem, of course, is the cost of tuition and board in the first place. The debt is accrued by the inordinate cost to attend a decent school and have to live away from home. This Senate proposal does nothing at all to lower the cost in the first place.

Like TARP, which did NOTHING to fix the problem of the crushing, burdensome debt homeowners faced with mortgages they could no longer afford, it would not fix the problem of high tuition. Instead, the benefit would again be a freebie to the Banks, and again, ultimately the middle class would be paying the brunt of it. The "rich" and their accountants would discover the loophole left to excuse them from the pain of this government gimmick.

Or like Obamacare. The middle class is the group caught in the middle of this scheme to provide "free" health care to those who didn't have it. Presently, that hasn't worked as planned, has it? Ask the people who could keep their plans before they lost their plans and are now paying more for their plans than before they lost their plans. Got that?

So, Barack Obama, who was hailed ten and nine and seven years ago as a great orator, instead has been discovered to be the Great Divider. He will do and say anything to deflect the truth from himself. Lie, even.  The majority of Americans are seeing and recognizing now what so many of us realized before he was elected the first time.

He is nothing but a low level community organizer, who would not have been elected dog catcher if some of us hadn't been so mesmerized by his voice and the now empty, untruthful and divisive lies it speaks.

Finally, with regard to the Bergdahl/Taliban swap, he has broken the law and has violated his Oath to the Constitution of the United States. He has done far worse than any illegal act Richard Nixon or Bill Clinton ever did.

This act by him is a violation of the separation of powers, by usurping the power of the Congress without advising and obtaining the consent of the Senate as mandated by the Constitution. If the Congress continues to sit by and allow this criminal to remain in power, this will be the worst Constitutional Crisis this country ever faced.

It is time we remove the Great Divider before any more harm can come to us as a country or as a people. Where is Reagan when we need him most?
