The Latest of the Greatest

Yesterday morning, I published a commentary called New Kids on the Block, where I discussed Donald Trump’s first picks for his second Cabinet. And as with the first-named designees, none are from the Swamp.

 

Some critics claim President-Elect Trump is selecting loyalists. But as anybody who has ever studied Presidential politics knows, every President does so.

So here is his second group in no particular order:

Pete Hegseth – SecDef

John Ratcliffe – CIA

Vivek Ramaswamy and

Elon Musk – DoGE (New)

William McGinley – WH Counsel

Mike Huckabee – Amb Israel

Steven Witkoff – SpEnvMidEast

Presently, the Department of Government Efficiency (DoGE), is a temporary, non-Cabinet advisory committee that will advise Trump where it will be best to down-size the bloated Federal bureaucracy, especially where redundancy exists. Perhaps, Ramaswamy will move to OMB when the task nears completion.

The following positions are yet to be named: FBI, Secret Service, Attorney General, FDA, FEMA, ICE, VA, SecTreas, HHS, SecEnergy, SecEd and several other positions, including Press Secretary. But President Trump probably has his list of designees being finalized and interviews have already been completed.

It will all be known soon, as he is not one to procrastinate unnecessarily. And as with several choices named yesterday, there are sure to be more surprises.
