The Growing US-Israeli Breakdown

I guess the world forgot the lessons of the Holocaust
Isn’t it amazing, the undercurrent that exists in Europe led by the Obama Administration.  Of the anti-Israel sentiment, Israel is trying to protect itself from its Palestinian agitators, supported by its hostile neighbors, Syria, Iran, Lebanon, and to a lesser extent, Turkey and Iraq. Amazingly demands are made on Israel to "play nice" and to make all concessions to those who are antagonizing her.
John Kerry, the man who replaced Hillary Clinton, has ratcheted up the level of disdain for Israel and has joined in the Bully-Talk demanding that Israel make a more concerted effort to bring the peace talks to a "reasonable" conclusion with its Palestinian neighbors. Economic pressure will be used to coerce Israel to make this accommodation, said Kerry.
In Sunday's USA TodayKerry and the Economic Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett traded barbs over a possible economic boycott. When the United States threatens it’s only true ally in that region, which signals a major shift in policy. I see it as a move away from Israel, which really is not a surprise to those of us who support her.
My dear friend Ed Koch and I debated what I thought was a growing hostility by this President toward Israel before he finally endorsed him for re-election. He assured

me that he spoke with President Obama who said he was a supporter as well. After his meeting with Obama, Ed announced his endorsement.
I disagreed with his endorsement, and politely, I told him he would regret that choice, and he did. I told him that many of his supporters, Jews and non-Jews alike, would follow his lead because the Mayor was still a major voice for Israel in this country. For some, the security of Israel was the paramount issue in that election.
Thankfully, Ed isn't around to see how much he was lied to and quite frankly, betrayed by this President. He would have been heartbroken.
While no one is talking now about gas chambers any reasonably intelligent person can see that anti-Semitism still exists in this country and throughout the world. Sadly, many people in Europe and the United States forgot how the leap went from disliking Jews to the chambers and ovens.
Hitler is laughing in Hell at all of us and the ignorance of the people.
