There have been grumblings since the June 27 debate between President Trump and President Biden that due to his poor performance, perhaps President Biden will relinquish his assured nomination to run again in November. If he did this, an open, or brokered, convention would ensue. Which hasn’t happened since 1968 after Robert Kennedy Sr was assassinated, causing the Democrat Party to settle on Hubert Humphrey. Some even believe that this last occurred in 1952, when the Democrats, again, fought over Stevenson and Kefauver.
If Biden decided that for the good of his party he would step away, many other candidates would openly fight for the nomination, starting August 19 through August 22, in Chicago. That is actually pretty ironic, isn’t it? Would history repeat itself?
Some of the names that are being bandied about include Governors Gretchen Whitmer and Gavin Newsom, Michelle Obama, even maybe, though unlikely, Governor JB Pritzer from the host city, and of course, Vice President Kamala Harris. In my opinion, there are several reasons why the Democrats would need to stay with her, but mostly because the bulk of the Democrats’ donations went to Biden-Harris. The optics to try and switch these monies ($300MM or more now) would be devastating to the agreed-upon, brokered Nominee.
Except one.
That’s right. Hillary Clinton. She may just be the agreed-upon choice between Barry O and the Clintonistas. And the Democrats and Harris just better shut up and like it.
Of course, being the operators that they are, Obama and Clinton would likely skulk that money to Hillary’s campaign, claiming that while the donations were made to Biden-Harris, it was really intended for the Democrat Presidential nominee and not, necessarily, to Joe Biden.
I don’t know what you would call it but my moral compass would consider it stealing. And to those who donated, well, this is the party YOU have chosen, and now you MUST live with it. So, again, sit down and shut up. Those are the new marching orders from Herr Obama and Herr Clinton.
As for Donald Trump and JD Vance, and the Republican Party? They need to be vigilant because this time, the Democrats and Hillary WILL attempt to steal this election and not even hide their duplicity. After all, if they could steal the nomination and the donations made to the sitting Vice President in plain sight, what would stop them from stealing the election? And, frankly, why would they care?
After all, it was all done for the good of electing their Queen to take her rightful place. Wasn’t it?
And to Hell to the rest of the American people and their silly Constitutional Republic.
