The First of Epstein's Players to Fall

It was reported this week that Larry Summers, the “respected” Harvard Economics Professor, suddenly resigned his long-standing teaching class at the University, when it was revealed he communicated extensively with sex predator Jeffrey Epstein.

“Mr Summers has decided it’s in the best interest of the Center for him to go on leave from his role as Director as Harvard undertakes its review,” a spokesperson told the Harvard Crimson Wednesday night.

Summers’ leave as director of the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at the Harvard Kennedy School, a role he’s held since 2011, is effective immediately, the Crimson reported.

“His co-teachers will complete the remaining three class sessions of the courses he has been teaching with them this semester, and he is not scheduled to teach next semester,” his spokesperson said.

Larry Summers was a major leader in former President Bill Clinton’s Treasury Department from 1993, serving the last two years as Secretary of  the Treasury. He rolled that position into an appointment to President of Harvard University from 2001 to 2006.

Subsequently, he served as former President Barack Obama’s Director of the National Economics Council from January, 2009 until early 2011, when he rejoined Harvard in his now-resigned post.

He also joined the Board of Directors of the artificial intelligence organization, OpenAI in November, 2023 and served as a director until he resigned earlier this week.

And now, he is the first of many notables who have fallen because he felt it was in his best interest for his career and reputation to befriend Jeffrey Epstein.

The only question is, “Who is next?”
