Will Justice Be Served?

The die may have been cast last week for the disgraced Dr Anthony Fauci. But unlike most Democrats and those others on the left, or even Republicans looking for some sense of COVID justice, that die was cast only by that doctor of perversity by his own hubris. In his diaries.

He has been subpoenaed by three state attorneys general who are investigating whether he promulgated health guidance for “personal profit.”

Florida AG James Ultheimer has joined an investigation, along with AGs from Louisiana, Liz Murill, and West Virginia, John McCluskey, into Dr Fauci, former National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director, following Fauci’s explosive decision to invoke his Fifth Amendment right and not answer any questions during a congressional hearing last  Wednesday.

“Fauci’s lack of candor to Congress is unbelievable. My office is launching an investigation into Dr. Fauci. It’s past time we get the truth of what happened during COVID,” Uthmeier wrote in a Wednesday post on X.

“Fauci’s diary focused more on self-promotion than the legitimate safety concerns from the mRNA vaccines. While Fauci was pushing for book deals, awards, and fortune and fame, Floridians were being deceived and harmed by his misrepresentations.”

The request followed Sen. Rand Paul’s release last month of Fauci’s personal diaries, which had been made between 2019 and 2022 and preserved on government computers at the Department of Health and Human Services.

“What we know already is Fauci lied, we just don’t know yet how much,” Murrill claimed. “But he lied about something as basic as keeping a diary.”

To top all of this off, Senator Rand Paul’s Senate Homeland Security Committee voted along party lines Thursday to hold Fauci in contempt for refusing to answer questions about the prize money, COVID lockdowns, US funding for so-called “gain of function” research on viruses, or the possible origins of the pandemic.

The chairman is seeking to have the contempt resolution certified by Vice President JD Vance in his role as president of the Senate, forgoing a full chamber vote and delivering the request for prosecution directly to DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro’s office.

Sometimes, one must learn patience to see how events play out over the long term. Maybe this will be one of those times.
