Meandering Through the Year

Today is July 31. We are 2/3 through Meteorological summer, almost 70% through the baseball season, not including the playoffs and World Series, and 1/3 through the Atlantic Basin hurricane season.

Oh, and graduations and those parties have been celebrated for High School and College graduates.

For many of us, some are looking forward to Fall and Winter. And for some of us, we wish it were Spring and Summer all the year long.

We are experiencing one of the craziest summers on record, with each day giving us something to talk about. Whether it is “feels like” 110* in Florida, endless rainy, cloudy days on Long Island, or pleasant days on the West Coast, we all have something to say.

As well, we are well into the Midterm Primary Season, with the final primaries wrapping up by September 9 in New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Then, we can look forward to the November 3 General Election.

We are about a month away from the start of the 2026 NFL season, where all teams start off with an equal chance of competing for a playoff berth. But by Halloween, we will have a better look at which teams may succeed to achieve for the prize.

And then, suddenly, the 2026 Holiday Season will be upon us, with Christmas music filling the airwaves right after Election Day. Which will be the sound we hear through Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Finally, we will welcome 2027, with the hope we will again have a Happy New Year.

And Welcome August First!
