Why are Democrats Afraid to Pass the SAVE Act?

CNN, the most untrusted source of news, except for MS NOW, is reporting that the Trump administration is threatening to withhold tens of millions of dollars in federal homeland security funds from states unless they adopt a sweeping set of election changes.

The move, says CNN, is part of President Donald Trump’s campaign to root out alleged voter fraud, despite studies showing it is far rarer than he claims, and exert more federal influence over how elections are run. It comes as multiple states have passed laws that seek to prevent the Federal Government from interfering with elections.

Once again, CNN, which is part of the Democrat Party press department, is spouting off the traditionally false Democrat Party talking points.

This flies in the face of the Democrat objections to the Safeguard American Voter Elegibilty (SAVE America) Act, where people would be required to prove citizenship to vote in FEDERAL elections and to provide  an acceptable photo ID, such as a driver's license, passport, or other government approved ID.

But these same Democrats find no objection when a photo ID is REQUIRED to open a bank account or stock account, collect a welfare check or EBT card, buy cigarettes, beer and alcohol, pick up a prescription, travel via ship or plane, rent age-restricted videos including online, rent a car, getting a document notarized, applying for a gun license, hunting license or passport, apply for job, apply for a loan and cash a check at a bank or check/ cashing facility. Yet, asking for a photo ID is deemed discriminatory to vote.

This begs the question, why? Are the Democrats trying to cheat?

For years, the DHS grants, which states apply for, have required that at least 3% of the funds be spent broadly on election security. But the new guidelines, which CNN obtained and are expected to go out to states later this month, impose a set of mandatory reforms and steep penalties for noncompliance. States that refuse would lose 20% of the grant money, potentially millions of dollars in security funds.

No changes to grant requirements or funding distributions are official until they are formally announced and published through proper, authorized agency channels,” a DHS spokesperson said in a statement, adding that the administration considers election security to be a core national security priority.

Any recipient of federal funding should expect accountability for how taxpayer dollars are spent,” the spokesperson added.

Until now, while the House has passed the SAVE America Act, the Senate, due to the sixty-vote filibuster, has refused to even bring it up for discussion. And Leader(less) Thune is afraid to kill the filibuster, even though, even a four-year-old knows the Democrats will kill it when they regain the majority in the Senate.

It is time to pass the SAVE America Act NOW!
