The Hypocrisy of False Indignation

Some Democrats and other Donald Trump critics feel morally superior as they point out Trump’s transgressions related to his personal and sexual behavior. Some have called him a pig, a misogynist, a player, a misanthrope and a chauvinist.

 

Honestly, you must admit these terms would equally apply to Bill Clinton. Yes? He was as guilty as Trump is; and he, too, paid “hush money” to several women to keep them from revealing his dirty laundry.

But on Saturday, in the late afternoon or early evening, CNN published  a report that Kamala Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, is guilty of the same behavior. Or worse.

When Harris was vetted by then-candidate Biden’s team, they were aware of this. And yet, they passed it over, hoping their friends in the LSM would keep it quiet. And for four years, they did. Until they couldn’t anymore.

Now, the Democrats and Kammy have been found out to be moralistic hypocrites. The Harris campaign team has enlisted Emhoff’s ex-wife to say wonderful things about him, blaming herself for his misbehavior and glossing over the fact that he got his child’s nanny/teacher (which was she?) pregnant and the mistress aborted it on her own.

Hmmm… Let he who is without sin… never mind.

And the apparent Democrat Presidential nominee can’t get a pass, either. She was the mistress of the married mayor of San Francisco as she was just starting her political career. And even that is not an issue, since that was Mayor Brown’s marriage, much like it is Trump’s or Clinton’s personal business.

No. The bigger hypocrisy for Kammy is this: During the Kavanagh hearings, she displayed herself as the indignant, virtuous judge, jury and executioner as she tried to discredit Justice Kavanaugh’s reputation with her vehement support of a lie, of an event which never occurred, when he was a single college student. All this so-called indignation, while she knew her own past sins and those of her husband. Oh, the hypocrisy!

And yet, the Democrats and their mouthpiece, the Lame Stream Media are still pushing her candidacy as if she is the woman of virtue. No, my friends. Her reputation is as soiled as any other Presidental candidate.

So let’s call it as it is. This is a campaign around two people, Donny and Kammy, who would be better served by skipping the talk about sex, lest more damning evidence is revealed which cannot be walked back.

And now that everyone’s sexual deviancy has been outed, let’s get on with the campaign to elect Donald Trump President again.

The Fickle Winds of Economic Change

As of 9 AM today, the Dow futures are down 1,200 points, making it potentially the worst opening since September, 2022. It was also reported that the Nikkei in Japan is experirncing its worst day simce that Black Monday in October, 1987.

What makes this different is that on Friday the market opened at a value of over 40,000 points and dropped 600 points by Friday afternoon. As the market opens today, it is teetering at about 39,500 and about to go into freefall.

Within the first five minutes, it dropped those 1,200 points or 3% of its value. The S&P and NASDAQ are both down close to 4%. Investors and other interested parties are hoping the slide will slow and level off.

It will be a nail-biting day for everyone today as people worry now how this will all play out against their own lives and futures. The ship could right itself but based on past performance, it may take a few days.

It will certainly be a volatile time. Fortunately, the markets and banks have safeguards in place as a result of the 2008 financial crisis.

Let’s all hope they are strong enough to withstand the unforeseen economic winds ahead.

The Doomsday Clock is Winding Down

Iran is setting its sites on attacking Israel through its terror network of Hamas, Hezzbollah and Houthi entities. Iran has admitted in the past that they are allied with these terrorist groups and has made considerable investments in arming them.

 

Jordan and Egypt have separately tried to reason with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who is as unreasonable as they come. This allegedly religious man told Arab leaders Saturday that he doesn’t care if the attacks cause a wider-spread war.

The Iranian people are tired of this saber-rattling that the clergy has been doing since 1979. I know because I have people who worked for me, were able to leave Iran after the Shah fell, and told me what their families were dealing with. In 1979, it was a small minority who supported the return of the Ayatollah from exile to create the theocracy which exists today. Over time, fewer people now support the regime.

In fact, the Ayatollah and his mullahs are so brave, that they are willing to fight a proxy war using their allied fanatics. And they have the funds to buy armaments from Russia and China because President Biden, early in his administration, lifted ALL the sanctions President Trump put in place, strangling Iran’s economy for four years.

Now, Iran acts with impunity even against other Arab countries because it knows the 

Biden/Harris Administration is weak and will do nothing  to rein in Iranian aggression. And in those same four years, Iran has had the time to develop nuclear weapons with no oversight from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Or anyone else.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed those fears to his Cabinet and that he believed Israel was already at war with Iran. Between the attack by Hamas on October 7 and the resulting war in Gaza, and the surprise attack two weeks ago in the Golan Heights by Hezzbollah which killed at least twelve children and injuring many others, he is probably right.

And since Israel responded by killing Ismail Haniyeh, a leader of the Palestinian terror group Hamas, and Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr, Iran is now seething with rage.

Biden has just ordered more warships and F-22 stealth fighters to the region. The deployment includes a squadron of elite jets and US Navy cruisers and destroyers. But the window to de-escalate a wider war is closing rapidly.

Will the Biden/Harris Administration honor its pledge to support Israel? The anti-semitic mob in the shadows calling for Israel's destruction certainly won’t.

Will World War III finally come to pass, as predicted? I pray not and so should you. Because this time, there may be no more time left on the doomsday clock.

And may God forgive us.

Still Living the Summer of Woodstock

It has been fifty-five years since the Summer of 1969. I graduated from Floral Park Memorial High School that June. The Jets won their only Super Bowl that previous January. We saw men land on the moon in July. We saw a Kennedy destroy any chance to become President two days earlier. We saw the unlikely Miracle on Flushing Bay, when the New York Mets won the World Series in October.

For me, I made the first of many adult life choices, as I decided late that summer to delay going into the Seminary (I never did). I even wrote about it in my book, The Coming of Age – The Summer of 1969 (available on Amazon).

But there is one event that stands out head over heals above all else that affected so many of us: The Woodstock Music and Art Fair, held at Max Yasgur’s farm in Bethel New York from August 15 to August 18. It has been estimated that a half million people showed up to hear Richie Havens begin it and Jimi Hendrix end it.

In between, some of the performers included Santana, Melanie, Joan Baez, Sha Na Na, Ravi Shankar, Country Joe and The Fish, Janis Joplin, CCR, Mountain, Canned Heat, Joe Cocker and CSNY, who documented it in a song written by Joni Mitchell, who was Graham Nash’s girlfriend at the time, called appropriately, Woodstock.

Later on, the film which was taken that weekend was made into a documentary. It won an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film and was nominated for two others, Best Film Editing and Best Sound Mixing.

Even Woodstock, Snoopy’s bird friend, got into the act after he first appeared in Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts comic strip, but he wasn't named until June 22, 1970, after the 1969 Woodstock festival.

There was music played to enjoy and satisfy everybody’s tastes. Rock, Country, Psychedelic, Accoustic, Electric. Even Strings, if you can believe that.

Ultimately, that weekend, that place, affected and defined a whole generation, even if you weren’t there. The music still lives, the memories of what we did at that time are a little more vivid than others, the lesson we learned about ourselves and each other has clarity.

While we are now as Boomers (mostly) today’s Senior Citizens, we still have a younger-minded outlook on all things; more so than the generations which preceeded us and certainly more relatable to those who came after.

As Joni Mitchell inspired us so long ago, we can still sing them loud and proud:

We are stardust, we are golden

We are billion-year-old carbon

And we've got to get ourselves

What Is the SCORE?

What do New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Minneapolis, Boston, Atlanta, Trenton, Philadelphia, Washington, DC and Detroit share with each other but do not share with Raleigh, Lansing, Houston, Phoenix, Orlando, Butte, Green Bay, Miami, Houston and Memphis? Anyone? If you said the designation of “sanctuary city” you would be correct.

Congratulations!

The first ten cities have been proudly thumbing their noses at the immigration laws of the United States, in some cases, for years. And now, because of this foolhardy policy, they have become completely overrun with illegal, undocumented, unauthorized, or whatever descriptive, politically correct, adjective you wish to apply to their status as aliens.

And because these people have exhausted the tax monies for services these cities have provided for health care, housing, food, general welfare, etc., these cities are reaching out to the Federal government, i.e., the taxpayers who opposed sanctuary cities long ago, for help.

But these cities are not alone in this human disaster. The Biden/Harris Administration via President Biden’s politically misguided executive orders CANCELLED all the safeguards President Trump put in place, like Title 42, Remain In Mexico, criminal deportations, oh, and building a wall. And he named his favorite Vice President, Kammy Harris, to be in charge of the border. And Democrats like Schumer and Pelosi and Ocasio-Cortez cheered.

He also restarted the Obama-Era catch and release program which Trump stopped. Fentanyl is crossing the border and reaking havoc on our population at an alarming rate. And several women and girls have been raped and/or murdered by known criminals who the Biden/Harris Administration let into our country since January 20, 2021. If Kammy is elected President, this nightmare will be accelerated.

And future victims' blood will be on the hands of all those who voted for her.

Not surprisingly, a mob scene at the border has ensued. What did the Biden/Harris Administration do? Why, under the cover of the darkness of night, they flew these unvaccinated migrants to cities all around the country to dump them wherever they could. When they tried to send them to Florida, Texas and several other states, Governors Abbot, DeSantis and several others rounded them up and had them driven to the sanctuary cities.

Now, these cities are destroyed financially and culturally. Their infrastructure is crumbling. And taxpaying citizens are leaving in droves, leaving third world wastelands behind.

Rep. Burgess Owens (R-Utah) was motivated to propose legislation after Denver officials transported migrants into Salt Lake City, Utah unannounced earlier this year. On Friday, he presented his bill, the Sanctuary City Oversight and Responsibility in Enforcement (SCORE) Act to the public, promising the bill would hold sanctuary cities responsible for their own migrants, if passed.

Guaranteed, when it gets to the Senate, Chucky and Fauxahontas will do everything to prevent it from seeing the light of day. And if, by some miracle, it got to Biden’s desk, he would be inclined to veto it. And Harris would be cheering him on to do so.

When President Trump retakes the White House and Chucky is no longer the Majority Leader, then we will be enforcing our Constitutional laws, again, to stop all the illegality which was permitted at the border since January 20, 2021.

And Biden, finally, will be forever grateful that the Supreme Court granted immunity to Presidents acting in their official capacity.

Copying Old Joe's Playbook

On July 22, after receiving the endorsements from the Obamas, the Clintons, Pelosi, Schumer and other DemoNazi elites, Kamala Harris unabashedly claimed that she had captured Joe Biden's delegates and confirmed them as her own. This was prior to the fake virtual nomination which is occuring now, August 3rd, as this is being written.

But understand this. She has held NO press conferences, nor did she appear, as Trump did, in Chicago to face tough questions from the National Association of Black Journalists. She also did not attend the Netanyahu appearance at the Joint Session of Congress.

And at her big Atlanta event, once the talent, Megan Thee Stallion, finished her performance, the attendees started leaving as Harris began to speak.

The crowd drew 10,000 attendees and by the time she was finished thirty minutes later, there were less than 5,000 people still there. Of course, the media is reporting it as if that event was the second coming of Jesus Christ.

But if memory serves me right, it appears she has pulled out Old Joe’s 2020 playbook. She must figure, if it worked for him, it will work for her. NEWS FLASH Kammy… it won’t work for you because he was an old man during Covid, and you, heretofore, have presented yourself as the young, borderline, Boomer/Gen-Xer. It won’t play in Peoria, so stop before you are ridiculed as a fool.

After the convention is done and you have exhausted the goodwill you are riding high on now, the real contest will begin.

And; by the way,  stop lying that Trump will enact the principles of Project 2025. You KNOW, and so do your press agents in the Lame Stream Media, that he disavowed it. Several times. Including in his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention. Nobody likes a liar, Kammy, especially if he or she is caught at it. 

You will be forced to face tough questions for how, as Biden’s Border Czar, you screwed it all up.

As it was reported by Fox News and other sources, blaming Trump for the Biden/Harris economy as you did yesterday won’t fly, either. The Biden/Harris Administration caused it. Now you have to own it.

That is what a real leader like Donald Trump does. Or, are you going to play the Obama playbook and blame it all on the last guy? Well, the last guy is Biden. And Harris.

Maybe you SHOULD follow Old Joe’s playbook. Go back to the cellar and hide.

And don’t come out until January 20, 2025 to attend the swearing in of Vice President JD Vance and President Donald Trump. AGAIN.

The Coming Biden/Harris Recession

As of noon today, in response to the poor job market report, the Dow was down nine hundred points. The investors and economists were anticipating a report showing 175,000 new non-farm jobs created in July, but instead, only 114,000 jobs were reported.

In addition, unemployment ticked up to 4 4% from a June number at 4.1%. All this negative reporting  sparked fears that a recession was on the horizon, if our economy was not already in the throes of one.

In any event, Wall Street may be finally catching up to Main Street. For months, actually for almost three years, inflation has raged out of control no matter what the Biden Administration has said.  Or did.

As a retired banker, I can assure you that I learned early on that two things drive the American economy: the cost of housing and the cost of energy. While they may not appear to be verticals, their paths cross constantly.

You need energy to get material and product from Point A to Point B. To do it inexpensively is paramount to keeping the cost of material and product low and affordable.

In order to build, remodel or refurbish a house, the cost of materials and product, and the cost of money needed (interest on loans) has to be low. If the energy costs are high, the cost for the product needs to absorb that cost, which translates to a higher interest rate.

All other costs are contingent on these two factors. Hence, Economics 101.

And while the left in this country is pushing for outrageous goals to force us to be green by unreasonable time frames, it is still noble to aspire for a better world for our posterity. But until we can efficiently harness green energy as cheaply as we can use fossil fuel, it will be a goal and not a reality.

We did learn from living through the pandemic, that many jobs can be done from home. The use of gasoline was reduced because the car was in the driveway. All the time. We learned to order our groceries and used new services to deliver them. We used Zoom and Meet to hold meetings with staff and business clients. And more new solutions were developed and used to live our daily lives.

This afternoon, the market made back almost 300 points it had lost this morning, closing down 610 points for the session. This weekend, all eyes will be on the futures which will give us a good indication if the market will continue to recover its loss from today, or repeat that weekend in October, 1987 when it continued its drop dramatically for several more days.

Ultimately, we learned today that Bidenomics isn’t working and many more people fear losing their jobs in August and the months to come.

And prices for food and other necessities will continue to climb until we lower the cost of energy and housing. That MUST BE the government’s first priority. Throwing money at it won’t solve the problem.

It is time for Biden and Harris to realize and admit THEY are wrong.
