West/Fiorina - My Whys and Wherefores

I was asked last week for the ticket the Republicans should put up for 2016. Initially, I said Ted Cruz and Allen West. I had no real preference who was running as what.

Now, with the announcement on Monday by Carly Fiorina, my choice is Mr. West for President and Ms. Fiorina for Vice President.

I know Allen West has not announced, nor has he indicated in any forum that he is considering a run. Having said this, I believe that Congressman West brings great leadership ability to the table. He is a former Lt Colonel in the Army, who was not a pencil pusher. Instead, he saw combat in 1990-1991 during Operation Desert Storm and again in 2002-2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has a true understanding of battles which need to be fought and those which are for political expediency.

There are stories, I know, about Mr. West's time in Iraq, where he was allegedly allowed to retire rather than face court martial for treatment of a prisoner in his custody. But, perhaps the stress of combat finally took its toll on him. Or maybeit was because the prisoner had attempted to assassinate him.

Ms Fiorina was the CEO of Hewlett Packard from 1999 to 2005, who oversaw the acquisition of Compaq by HP to make HP the world's largest computer manufacturer. She is blamed for streamlining the operation by terminating 30,000 positions. While the liberal media is making a huge issue of this, as anyone who understands the results of these transactions knows, downsizing of duplicate positions is necessary to make the business plan profitable. Otherwise, why would YOU or any American invest in stock, mutual funds or a 401-k?

Having dispensed with the negative media hype, I truly believe both these individuals will go a long way to restore our country's standing in the world after eight years of failing socialist experimentation, and a slow withdrawal toward American isolationism, when the world has looked to us in the past for moral leadership and as its moral compass.

Mr. West is a pragmatist who has a broad view of the world in a conflicted state and Ms. Fiorina has a long history of executive ability and profitability in the business of technology, prior to her time at HP.  Together, I think they can right the ills of the current administration and its lawless, continual violations of the Constitution.

There are other men and women in the Republican Party who are eminently qualified, but at this time, in my view a West/Fiorina ticket would certainly beat any ticket the Democrats nominate.

Believe me when I say this, neither Hillary Clinton nor Elizabeth Warren possess any talent displayed in their records which outshine any other Democrat presently considering a run. The fact that they are women is not the reason to nominate them.

Finally, neither Ms. Clinton nor Sen Warren has proven to me by their actions or statements that they would govern Constitutionally.  In fact, the reverse would be true, giving us at least four more years of Unconstitutional behavior by either or both. We will not survive as a Constitutional republic, should either be elected.

I will be discussing this again, to be sure, but for now, the West/Fiorina is the ticket for me.
