The New Meaning of DC - Defender of the Constitution - I Am, Are You?

I was invited by my Cousin Bill to attend one of his meetings this week with his two groups, Oathkeepers and SCOPE, which shared the meeting night, much like the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society did with Communion Breakfasts in my church when I was a kid and a young adult. I am a 4th Degree member in the Knights, since 1978, just like President Kennedy was. By the way, this is called the Patriot Degree.

I know... it isn't politically correct to talk about religious groups, but I am not a politically correct person, as I speak my mind. Instead, I support and defend  the Constitution, and our Freedom OF Religion (not freedom of worship, or worse, Freedom FROM Religion), as do the Oathkeepers, which is a group of ex-military and others, who are Democrats, Republicans,  Independents, Conservatives, Liberals etc., who swore to defend the Constitution as a lifetime pledge, and SCOPE, which stands for Shooters Committee On Political Education, which supports the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and all twenty seven amendments, including the Second Amendment.

I had the honor and privilege to meet the evening's speaker, KrisAnne Hall, who I found to be an interesting, dynamic, powerful and knowledgeable individual. Her topic this particular evening was the Second Amendment. But understand this: her presentation showed that all twenty seven amendments are inter-related and are as important as the document they amend. She does, as I do, believe that our Basic Law is the Sacred Document.

Oh, and by the way, she also agrees that there are other Sacred Documents. Some others are the Magna Carta, the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation, the immediate precursor to our primary Sacred Document.

KrisAnne is retired military, a Disabled American Veteran, attorney, former prosecutor, mom, wife, and history teacher. She is also fluent in Russian, which is fascinating by itself to me. Her life work now is to spread the real information, translation, meaning, whatever, about the Constitution, not the watered down, diluted and polluted common core version of this most important document for Americans, and actually for the world. Oh… and she is a Patriot.

She spends 300 days a year, on her own dime, to get this message out there. She has a radio podcast which she does every day through her website, KrisAnneHall.com, as she tries to teach the meaning and history of our Constitution over the 700 years from the Battle of Hastings and all the documents written prior to the writing of our own Sacred Document, on which the final product is based. And she travels through the country bringing forth the message that our Constitution is ours to enforce on government, not for government to interpret the Constitution to force us into an inferior role.

The Constitution is an evolving document, purposely made so by the Framers. They understood that society would change as would its practices. They included an amendment process for the Congress to utilize, but they also included a process by which the PEOPLE could change the Constitution without the input of the Congress, especially as amendments may impact the role of the Congress.

The purpose, ultimately, of the Constitution was to protect us from a ruling class. Sadly, that is what we have now, because we allowed these entities to usurp our power. It is time to take it backARTICLE V is the vehicle by which we can do this, and have our states agree to a Constitutional Amendment, for example, to place term limits on Members of Congress, which I have written about several times.

In the end, KrisAnne makes certain that we understand that the Constitution places limits on government, not that government bestows liberties, freedoms etc., on us. WE THE PEOPLE are in charge, as indicated by the first three words of the Preamble, of the government. The Senators, Representatives and President must listen to us, not the other way around.

Please visit KrisAnne's website for further education on our Constitution. Also, she would be happy to come to your organization to do a presentation. It will be the best hour you can spend learning what the Constitution really means to you, your families and your friends.

As I said, I learned much this week from her, and I thought I knew all there was to know. Sometimes, a new perspective can truly be enlightening. It was too me.

Imagine how much better off you will be to understand what is happening in our country, and understanding that we have the power to stop our government from succeeding in taking our liberties, without firing one shotIf we don’t, it will soon come to pass.

I don't want that to be our legacy to our posterity. Do you?
